What Does ‘PS5 Pro Enhanced’ Mean? Even though all fully PS5 Pro enhanced titles will carry a ‘PS5 Pro Enhanced’ label, there are a number of ways that the PS5 Pro can bring its full power to bear to enhance certain titles. To be clear, titles that have the ‘PS5 Pro Enhanced’ label, will enjoy bespoke and substantial visual improvements that aren’t possible from just running a game unpatched on PS5 Pro – though more than 8,500 PS4 and PS5 games will still nonetheless enjoy more stable frame rates and higher resolutions. As such, PS5 Pro Enhanced can result in the following upgrades:

• The use of PSSR to provide a higher resolution in performance mode. For example, The Last of Us Part II Remastered runs at 1440p and 60 FPS on PS5. On PS5 Pro, The Last of Us Part II Remastered could reach 4K resolution and still maintain that buttery smooth 60 FPS.
• Additional and improved ray tracing. For example, in Hogwarts Legacy much more accurate shadows are cast along with heavier detailed lighting effects and many more reflective surfaces.
• Improved visual details and richer rendering. For example, in Horizon Forbidden West you’ll see much higher character model detail, improved draw distances, much denser foliage and more besides.
• The 8K dream is a reality. By leveraging PSSR, PS5 Pro can now render up to an effective resolution of 8K, with Gran Turismo 7 being the first title to support this graphics mode.

The PS5 Pro has been officially confirmed to release on November 7, 2024 in all major territories. The PS5 Pro price has been confirmed as £699/$699. PS5 Pro pre-orders begin on September 26, 2024.
