ArchAge 2 is no more, only in the sense that it’s not called ArchAge 2 anymore. Instead, it’s ArchAge Chronicles, and developer XLGames showcased the sequel and a bunch of gameplay during the September 2024 State Of Play. The studio also announced a release date window, saying that it’ll be arriving on PS5 sometime in 2025.

“First and foremost, we’re excited to introduce the next installment in the ArcheAge series – ArcheAge Chronicles,” executive producer Yongjin Ham said in a PlayStation Blog post. “As an online action RPG, ArcheAge Chronicles promises to deliver a more immersive experience with a strong emphasis on action combat. The game will feature epic large-scale raids and cooperative gameplay, offering a diverse array of activities for players to enjoy on PS5.” Ham also confirms that Chronicles will take players outside the realm of the original game, and promises more from the series than ever before.
