Ubisoft has confirmed that it is looking at ways to bring the Rayman franchise back following reports earlier this week that claimed that a remake is in production. Speaking in a statement issued to Kotaku, the publisher confirmed that Michael Ancel is involved in the project as a consultant. We are pleased to confirm Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan have recently started an exploration phase on the Rayman brand. The project is still in its early stages, and we will share more details later. As creator of the Rayman brand, Michel Ancel is being consulted to ensure consistency within the universe. The report also mentioned the involvement of Ancel as a consultant, which ties in with the official statement above. Ubisoft issued an official statement on the situation with the team behind The Lost Crown, confirming that its developers are involved in various projects, and that the Montpellier team is still very much alive and kicking. As it stands, the Rayman Remake hasn’t been officially confirmed by Ubisoft yet, but at least we know that something is in the pipeline.
