Bridget O’ Neil has confirmed that the Bungie Creative Studios team are joining up with PlayStation to form the basis of an outfit to support live service titles for the console maker. Speaking on X, O’Neil confirmed that they have taken up a new job as Senior Director of Creative at PlayStation Studios, which aims to utilise the former Halo developer’s experience in live service products to help get new projects off the ground. Bungie Creative Studios is joining PlayStation to build the foundation for a creative team that can support all PlayStation live service games. Live service is hard and comes with a unique set of challenges, so together we will be able to give a jumpstart on development for new games. Bungie is currently continuing support for Destiny 2, which launched in 2017 and is still going strong thanks to a robust lineup of expansions, the most recent of which arrived in June. Meanwhile, the studio is also working on a revival of Marathon, which according to a recent report may end up launching at $40. Sony’s big push into live service products has been a bit of mixed bag so far. Helldivers 2 has been a huge success since its release in February of this year, but then there was Concord, which arrived at the end of August and was pulled offline just weeks due to turning in such a poor performance.
