Review aggregator Metacritic has responded to the incessant Dragon Age: The Veilguard review bombing on its site. As we previously reported, there’s been a concerted effort by a small but increasingly vile section of the community to attack the game and its developers because it’s “woke,” with many taking to Metacritic to partake in a review bombing campaign. Metacritic’s statement on Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s review bombing When reached out by Eurogamer, a Metacritic spokesperson said that the website has a moderation team that diligently tackles fake reviews, especially ones that contain derrogatory language and slurs. The statement reads: We take online trust and safety very seriously across all our sites including Metacritic. Metacritic has a moderation system in place to track violations of our terms of use. Our team reviews each and every report of abuse (including but not limited to racist, sexist, homophobic, insults to other users, etc) and if violations occur, the reviews are removed. This will, of course, leads to cries of “censorship,” as we’ve come to expect at this point. Worth pointing out that on Steam, where players are required to play a game before leaving a review, Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s user reception is “mostly positive.” There are legitimate complaints about the game, especially surrounding its story and pacing, but “woke” and “DEI” nonsense is peddled by same terminally online trolls. Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s launch sales have yet to be revealed, but it’s currently one of the top games on PSN in some regions as well as one of Steam’s global top sellers.
